Putting beer on the map
It could be so easy to fall back on some well-worn clichés, associating beer with the "terroir" and brewing expertise... But whoever thinks that such a bitter-sweet subject can be exhausted in just a few words would be mistaken:
With beer, the "terroir" (somewhat over-used term when describing French regional produce) is reflected in the landscape and its people. We are talking about the landscapes of northern France, of course. But if you have never seen a shimmering hopfield on your way up to the channel, or if you have never sat down at a long wooden bench in a Flemish tavern after a long walk in the forest, these landscapes will mean nothing to you...
With beer, and especially Jenlain, brewing skills (which are too often attributed to all and sundry), are a family tradition, a talent passed down through the generations, together with a love for nature, for life and good old traditions…
With beer (as you can see), words flow easily, but it is just as good to keep quiet and savour the bittersweet moment - like a true lover of fine beer…
